This is an issue we’ve run into when upgrading several clients to eDOCS DM 10. This will also be a persistent issue for an eDOCS DM 16 upgrade and is something that your upgrade specialist needs to be aware of.
Back in the day of DOCS Open… when a new database was created, there were a number of defaults created in your Legal library. A Client/Matter and Document Type called “DEFAULT”, all three of those items being created with a SYSTEM_ID of 0 (zero). This wasn’t an issue as none of the items every referenced the other.
The introduction of Dynamic Views and Dynamic View security changed this. And the problem was compounded in eDOCS DM 10 as eDOCS moved to a true security inheritance model.
Introducing Tempo | New from Open Text!
Open Text just introduced a new product called Tempo, and it’s a home run! Tempo allows you to easily share and synchronize documents wherever you are. You can share information within your organization, and more importantly with your business partners. Consider it a very easy-to-use Extranet, and at no cost to external users! It’s compatible with many platforms including PC, iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and BlackBerry. Wherever you are, Tempo is there!
The interface is very simple. It’s very ‘Dropbox-like’, but with a much more secure and integrated feature-set. Create Tempo ‘Spaces’, and easily share them nternally and/or externally. Tempo integrates with eDOCS DM, providing the perfect collaboration tool..
Tempo can be hosted internally on your VMWARE environment, or through Open Text.
